EARTH WORK PHOTO SHOOT
Earth art, also referred to as Land art or Earthworks, is largely an American movement that uses the natural landscape to create site-specific structures, art forms, and sculptures. The movement was an outgrowth of Conceptualism and Minimalism: the beginnings of the environmental movement and the rampant commoditization of American art in the late 1960s influenced ideas and works that were, to varying degrees, divorced from the art market.

Pick up some water-based face paint at the dollar store and create your own one of a kind canvas at home with family! This is subjectively open for your own artistic interpretation! The brilliance of photography is capturing a moment in time. Capturing someone jump in the air can be equal parts beauty and magic! If captured properly there is an ethereal aesthetic achieved within the photograph. The overall look captures exhilaration but also a weightless feeling. Take an amazing photo series of local Powell River Dandylion's!
Experiment with your lighting sources and look to capture the most dramatic leading lines! Remember the "Dandylion" ties in perfectly with the photo unit we learned about the "PHI GRID." These shots were all taken last night as there are a tremendous amount of blooming Dandylions in parks, forests and at the beach! Capture your own amazing bird series through another nature adventure in our own backyard! We are extremely fortunate to be surrounded by the west coast rainforest, the sunshine coast and the salish sea! Explore our natural environment and find some awesome birds to shoot your own photo series! As spring is here there are a very high volume of unique birds which have migrated back to our town! I took the following series over the weekend with the F/STOP at 5.6, SHUTTER at 1/250 and the ISO set at 400.
